A man was convicted by a Baltimore County jury Tuesday in connection with the 2022 death of a Nottingham man.
Nykhi Jmani Robinson, 23, was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence.
Police were called to the area of Hallfield Apartments off of Belair Road in the Nottingham area on Oct. 3, 2022.
Upon arrival, officers found the body of Vincent Joseph Leach, 28, at the entrance to a trash dumpster corral in the parking lot.
Police discovered that Leach had been shot ten times in the head, back, chest and hand. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Subsequent investigation found that Leach had been in contact by Instagram and text with a prepaid phone about meeting at the place where he was found dead.
Investigators found that the phone belonged to Robinson. Homicide Detective also found surveillance video in the area of the shooting and was able to identify the car used by the individuals responsible for the killing.
Cell phone records were utilized to place Robinson and two others near the scene of the shooting at the time of Leach’s killing.
A sentencing date was not immediately known. Robinson faces a maximum potential penalty of life imprisonment plus twenty years.
